Sounds like a plan P. Do you use a sinking line on you ff ing gear? You really have to. But you mention Bobber and worms, why not try deep nymphing. Chronomids are nothing more than thread, wire rib, antron tuft for gills, peacock thorax and a bead head. Easy to tie.
You have sonar in your boat, drop the fly down (in fact put a tag and put another one a foot up) to a foot off the bottom. Set the indicator to hold the fly off the bottom and let it drift. Gonna do the same thing as a worm, but less messy and it is a FLY. [laugh]
I was told from my buddies, this was a great way to catch fish last year at 9' to 13'. Fun and relaxing.
Do you fish from a tube/toon or just your boat?
About JUNE. When we started going to Henry's for our week long outing, we first started Memorial weekend. Cold, snow, gloomy, so the following year first weekend of June...same thing, the next year a week later....same thing. Up to July 4th and still same thing...LOL
I have come to the conclusion, it don't matter when you go.
But I would like to mention one thing. PLEASE all you fishers, if you go during the HOTTEST months, just remember the water is hot also and shallow. This is the worst time to fish unless you plan on keeping them.
The heat and stress kill more fish than anything, so maybe think Pali
es or deep lakes during the very hot months and we can preserve Henrys for out grandchildren.
