Who's ready for Henry's Lake????
#39
I've only fished it in the fall right before closure. Maybe I'll make it over around opening this year... I've thrown B.S. flies right at the edge in the evenings and have caught them consistently. Purple and black or halloween has always produced for me. In the morning and evening I also like to throw spinners from shore on an 8 1/2' light weight spinning rod with full spool 6-8 lb. mono on my old Mitchell 304's. Further out you get the more fish you catch. Nothing like that instant slam by a 3-4 pound cutt or hybrid. My two favorite spinners are silver on silver blue fox or rainbow holographic panther martins. I think generally, you catch the most fish on what you throw the most... My nephew hit it last year and sent me great photos over the week. I want to try bobber and worm. Sounds like fun...
Still looking for a big Brookie to mount...
Weather is the big variable. My F60 Yamaha has got me off the lake quick enough when the wind slams you a couple of times and the clouds roll in over the mountain.
