Boise River - Round 2 - W/pics
#1
I fished the Boise River again and had an even better day today than yesterday. I arrived at another one of my old spots around 12:00. It was a little windier today but the fishing was still excellent. Right away I hooked into a fun little brown. I snapped a quick pic and continued upstream. As I moved upstream I caught a couple average rainbows and a couple of whitefish. I continued moving on in search for a bigger fish. I found another nice run and cast out. Right away my indicator went down. I thought I was snagged so I pulled up to try get it undone. Then my line started shooting out real quick so I knew I had hooked into a decent fish. I saw him roll a couple times and could tell it was a real nice fish. As I brought him in a little closer I started thinking it was maybe one of the steelhead that had been planted in November. I finally landed him and turns out it wasn't a steelhead, just a really nice sized beautiful rainbow. Fish was somewhere between 25"-27". No idea about the girth but it was definitely a porker. Snapped a couple pics and quickly released it. What an awesome way to end my trip to Boise. Every time I fish the Boise I have a really great time.
Tight lines...
