I agree that is allot of motor, but we had a 14' boat with a 25 four stroke and there were times we could have used a little more power to get off ugly water.
There is no law that you can't fish flies off spinning gear. Top water action is really not practiced on Henry's, but sub surface down to the 13' or so bottom is where you want to be. You can nymph, just like jigging. You can troll a nymph, leech, or a streamer. If you are going to C&R try squishing the barbs. You still end up with that little lump that helps, but you will be able to unhook the fish much easier. Just keep tension on the line.
If 2009 is anything like 2008, you will do just fine.
