I arrived at Springfield lake around 12:45 very excited to finally fish some open water (other than a river). The fishing wasn't super hot but it wasn't slow either. I was just fishing from the shore so I probably could have done better had I brought my pontoon boat out. I ended up landing three, losing three right at the shore, and had way too many missed hits. All the fish were between 12" and 16", maybe 17". I don't want to say it was bigger than it was
. They were all caught on wooly buggers and leeches. I did lose one on a Hare's ear. I left at 3:30 or so to grab a bite to eat and headed over to the South Fork and did quite well. I am posting a separate report on that. Sorry the pictures aren't compressed, I am still figuring out how to do it.
