Using braid for the first time

make sure you set up your drag appropriately for braid it doesn't have the stretch that mono has even through its stronger you still want to give the fish some play and don't hard line him in or ya might tear the hook out of his mouth in the first couple of minutes while he still has all his strength. Even though braided line is tough you should let the fish have some running time to wear it out a bit before just hauling it in.

Especially if you are going to catch and release you don't want to hawg it in and stress it out to much, let it play out and tire a bit.
