Ririe fishable ice on 2-28?

My father and I fished it a few days ago on Wednesday. The ice around the edges was a little soft and open in places. With the return to cold it should firm up. However, to be safe and avoid a cold and possible dangerous fall thru the ice I would suggest a trick we used. At the main landing at Juniper Landing, park there and walk out to the end of the boat dock and step out from the end of it and onto the thicker ice. Do the same returning and you should be fine.
