The way i have always looked at it is if its a 6 fish limit when i get to 4 i start catch and release, then if i catch one thats hurt bad i can keep it. Then i still have room for the big one if it bites, and if i catch another thats hurt i am done.
The way i look at it you are done after your limit. I am always just to afraid i will kill one. Then what will i do. If i wanted to fish all day i just make sure i am below my limit.
