I got Bacterial pnemonia sucking down deer crap dust in the Florida Keys. It put me down for 9 months. I couldn't do much so when I could finally get up and around I puttered around in my machine shop. I drilled out alot of reels. After seeing my reels now all the manufacturers do it. It's just for looks, although some of the reels have the owners names drilled into their reels. I was charging around $50.00 a reel until I finally got back to work. As for braid, I use it for heavy work at the Colorado river because you never know when a Flathead will suck up your jig while pitchin'. All the lakes around my house are deep and crystal clear hence the mono. Or Flouro. Looks like braid on this reel, must have just got back from the river...
