Anybody Southwestern Idaho Fisherman out there?
#17
I didn't go to the backwaters at all. We just had my little fish hunter raft and a couple paddles so we didn't venture out too far. So I guess mostly the area by the dam on the far side. Also I fished it a day or two after a real big rain storm came through the whole area, so the water was straight up brown. I wasn't fly fishing like usual, just throwing out pumpkin/brown colored rubber worms with the curly tails and with a couple bullet weights up top. Bass fishing is about the only time I spin fish. I just love feeling a big bass nail my line as it is dropping. About 90% of the fish were caught on the drop. If you are looking into catching some bass I would recommend Swan Falls on the Snake. I had numerous 200+ fish days. The only bad part is that most of them were only 11" or so. Still those little smallmouths always put up a good fight. Sorry for the long winded answer to such a simple question, I just get so excited thinking about catching those big bass. I just came back and edited with a couple pics from Paddock
