Nampa checking in.
I live near Wilson Springs (probably the most frequently-planted fishery in Idaho) and am hoping to get pretty serious this year. I made many trips to Lucky Peak / Arrowrock last year and just fiddled around with my canoe. We certainly caught fish there, but it was 10 to 1 squawfish vs. trout.
My favorites places: Trinity Lakes (Elmore County), Lost Valley Res., Sage Hen, and the greatest family campground / fishery of them all, Horsethief.
Trips planned this year: Red Mountain Lakes (above Lowman). Rice Lake / Long Lake (upstream from Warm Lake). I'm also going back to the Independance Lakes in Cassia county to catch some arctic grayling. Truly a hidden gem in Idaho that few seem to have heard about.
