] Sounds like several of us were on the ice at Ririe last Saturday. Wasn't it a wild sight! Four wheelers buzzing around, we had two or three buzz around us.
The power augers drilling holes reminds me of an old ice fishing article in Outdoor Life many years ago. Three or four guys back East in New York state I believe were fishing on a small pond for bluegills, perch and pickerel. The ice was clear enough they could see the fish thru the ice. They mentioned everytime they drilled a hole with a manual auger the fish darted off elsewhere. They said it took about 20 minutes for the fish to return to the area they were fishing. Imagine what a power auger must do with all the noise and sound waves moving thru the water.

I ice fish not because I love the cold, but because it is the only time of year I can impress my wife, by walking on water. [
