Gizmo's and Gagits

I don't know how the fishing has been, I'm from the east side of the state, but I'll be doing the crappie/sturgeon thing the first week in march. I'll let you know how I do. Do you (or anybody else) know if early march is a good time to try it? I'm going to Boise for a fisheries conference, but I can't get that close to those monsters without taking a shot at them!
