Lima Reservoir, MT.
#7
Well I got some info from a Montana fish bioloigist, it doesn't sound very good. Here is what he said.....

Lima Reservoir isn't really a fishery and I don't know anyone who tries ice fishing there. We don't sample it so don't have any data on the burbot although we know that some do occupy the reservoir. Dewatering issues, high summer water temps, and concentration of salts (highly alkaline) from irrigation management render habitat and water quality pretty marginal. Large numbers of white suckers are the primary fish species in the lake. It is most definitely worth your while to drive 35 - 40 more miles to fish Clark Canyon for your burbot trips. Besides, the actual mileage and time difference is less than that as you would have to leave I-15 at Lima and drive a gravel road to get to the reservoir.
Burbot fishing has been pretty slow this winter despite strong numbers of fish in the population. It just began to pick up a bit last weekend and should get far better into the second half of the month and March. Good luck, Dick Oswald

So it sounds like the lake isn't worth trying. I guess I will see everyone at Clark Canyon Res! [Wink]
