]Me and my bro tried to fish whitney last saturday but the gate on the whitney road was still locked so we decided to hit lily at lily (in the bear river drainage) there was no snow and it was warm didn't catch a thing though didn't even have a bite and every one there was having the same luck but it was nice to get away from the heat I tried to call the evanston ranger district to ask when the whitney road would open but I didn't have any long distance on my phone but at the gate there was no snow and I figure if there was any snow on the road higher above the gate it wouldn't be more than 4-6 inches hope this helps.
