Slip Fishing
#2
Hey Simon you old coot how the heck are ya? Sounds like a pretty sweet deal, cards and SI-Thais. My only suggestion in addtion to your plan is to chum, heavy chum. All those chovies will make the cards stink, so in addition I would suggest chumming several cans of corn. Whole sweet corn, the cheapest you can find will do fine. If you really want to get fancy open them ahead of time, drain them and put them in a big ziplock with some garlic salt and crushed up fresh garlic. You may want to double bag this mess to keep the smell down. But if not the corn right from the can is fine too. I have had luck with it. Brings in cats and stripers (and yes carp, but at that depth carp rarely feed). If you can use two lines move one from to time to time at diff. depths and let one soak on the bottom unless you find a good depth then of course put them both there. And remeber the Ace is highest card Simon, not a 1. [Wink] Good luck brother.
