There is still sweat dripping off my brow from putting the cover on the boat by myself. It's 84 degrees but the water temp is a chilly 71 here in south Orange County CA. I had to drop a size and am now fishing a four inch Tiki Wave Worm in shad color. Still hooking them weedless wacky but with a #1 Owner Mosquito hook and six pound test. They cast far and sink pretty quick. All my fish were in 18 feet of water this morning but day before yesterday they were right on shore in the afternoon. I kept six huge Redeared sunfish because they are so tasty! All the Bass were tossed back and the biggest was around two and a half pounds. Good thing " cause they are tough suckers. All sucked the Tiki worm all the way down, thank God for Needlenose Pliers. The rest of the country is freezing, it's snowing on the upcoming Football game, and I am sitting in my backyard sipping a cocktail and waiting for some Ballgames. I'm going to strip some line of the reels and refill for my regular Tuesday session with my Dad. He out fished me last week, pretty good for an Eighty year old. If I can get him to go late in the afternoon we might get some on topwater. By the way, its so crazy hot out I saw some catapillers on the trees....in January!
