Not that I consider myself to be the authority on the subject. But I have spent my lifetime hunting Monroe.
Family camp in the same spot for 70 yrs. Archery hunters. Uncle has a cabin. Blah Blah.
I seen spidey with my own eyes around a dozen times. During late june july. Over the yrs I have seen bulls that resemble spidey (not 500 in). I was down there during the archery deer. Aug 15th threw Sept 7th. I seen what I figured were Doyle's boys. Didn't look like the friendliest guys in town. But in no way did I see them or here of them trying to block roads or any if the likes. Just based in the pictures of the harvest It appears the bull was taken on the lower part of Six Patch south of the Box Creek Res. Often a refuge for a large bull and his harem. Feeding on top at night and retreating back over the ridge in the day to chill.
As for the notion that he is a ranch bull.[shocked]
One heck of a gamble on Doyle's part don't you think. This man makes a good living based on his reputation.
In the event he was found trying to pass a farm raised elk off. As the new world record taken on public lands. It would ruin his rep. Not worth it. Especially considering that Mr. Austed had a tag that would allow him to hunt anywhere anytime in the state of utah. It would be conceivable that this tag would produce a 420 bull any year.
Lunkerhunter, Can you prove that big brown you caught out of Causey wasn't from the fish farm. Come on Causey. Big browns don't come from Causey. Point is everybody gets lucky sometimes. And it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. Doyle, Denny and help no that that bull wasn't farmed 100% leggit!
