I did it and I feel it was worth it. I was actually interested in learning more about time share opportunities although I knew that I didn't have the money to commit to one at this time. They try really hard to convince you that you can afford a time share and that you should do it so be prepared.
They try to sell you by explaining that there is a one-time offer that is only available the first-time you come and that if you decide to do it later, the remaining plan isn't very good. The funny thing is, how will they know if you come back again?? All they have is your written name - no social security number, no photo ID, Drivers License number.
So you have to drive to south SLC, listen to motivational speakers for about an hour or so, and then sit and be haggled by salespeople for another hour or so. As long as you are not a pushover and you can say no, you should be ok.
