Of course, computers and high-speed telegraphy equipment has taken all the fun out of it. Nowadays you can encrypt and send a burst message in a matter of seconds. Indeed,
NSA has radios with built-in encryption algorithums. You talk in the clear, and, unless the receiving station has a similarly encrypted set, all a listener hears is static.
But what can you do.? Comuters have killed everything.
