Well Mr. "Redneck" wasting whitefish is a crime. They are not trash fish and are in fact native species to this river system. The browns and rainbows you enjoy catching are the invasive species. I like to catch trout, but whitefish are also a blast. To bad you're so narrow minded that you can overlook good fishing when it is presented to you. Just be aware that if you waste these fish and are caught you will be prosecuted. There are others on this board who agree that whitefish are fun to catch and have salavaged many a day where the trout were lip locked. And I have a hard time believing you where just pulling in 17" whites on a 3wt, everyone I have caught put up a good fight, some even better than those stupid planted slimers.
