I fished Henrys with Steelfisher on Friday & Sat. We hit it hard from the crack of dawn until dark both days.
I fished the Staleys area along with 30-100 other people.
Fishing was red hot early in the morning and then died around 10 A.M. It took a lot of concentration to pick up the fish after the first couple hours in the morning.
We were picking them up with white tube jigs & paddle bugs. The later in the day that it got the more important jigging became.
On Friday we ended up catching 50 between us and on Sat. we landed 54. Most of those were caught in the first couple of hours an then we probably averaged a fish each an hour for the rest of the day.
Each day we caught a couple hybrids in the 24" range no Henrys monsters but not complaining since we probably averaged near 20" including several 16-17" brookies.
Hard to believe but it was a little slower than the last couple of years. It may have been the crystal clear ice until the Sat. evening when it snowed heavily.
Hopefully Steelfisher will post some pics since he had the camera.
It was also fun to meet several BFT members from Utah who made the long journey.
