Small Victory in the Pond
#2
Congrats on the one that got away, I'm sure you are planning your revenge as I type! Fishing in dark, muddy water I use black, black/blue plastics with a rattle insert or lures that vibrate alot like a chatterbait or spinnerbait and use dark colors on them. In my own experience I use lighter colors on clear, sunny water and darker colors on murky, shadowed water. If you think about it, take pictures of the bottom structure when the water is low. This well help you when the water is high to determine what type of structure you are fishing.
This might sound like cheating (did this on my buddies pond back in the day) but when the water is low try adding some structure like stacked cinder blocks or trees, etc. so when the water rises the bass have structure to relate to so you know where they are and where to fish and most importantly don't break up with a girl that has a bass pond [cool].
