Thanks for the comments. Two years in a row now we've had high water in summer which has helped the fish that are no longer caught in the nets to get up the river. Good to see as well that so many anglers are acting responsbily & releasing fish.
I'm looking forward to the first progeny of the free-running fish to appear - the grilse should start in 2010 & the multisea-winter fish from 2012. Then we'll really start to see the benefits of the drift net ban.
