I think the Fish and Game is doing an awesome thing by trying to kill all the rainbows.

Guys they are not trying to keep the Yellowstone Cutthroat because it is a super sportfish. Obviously it does not fight like other species. They are trying to save it and keep it healthy as a species. The Yellowstone Cutthroat is on the "THREATENED" species list and could be put on the endangered species list if things don't turn for the better. If that happens, you wouldn't even be able to fish for them. The YCT historically used to occupy 17,397 miles of habitat, ranging from the waters of the Snake River drainage (Columbia River basin) upstream from Shoshone Falls, Idaho, to the Yellowstone River drainage (Missouri River basin), including the Tongue River in eastern Montana. Now the YCT occupies bout 1,300 stream miles, or around 17% of historically occupied habitat. That is SAD. I don't care if the fish is an inferior fighter, something needs to be done. There are THOUSANDS of places in Idaho to catch Rainbows, Browns, Brooks, Hybrids, etc.... But how many areas are there to catch pure strain YCT? Not very many at all.

F and G people have degrees and went to school for a long time to know how to handle things. I think we should trust what they do and think over our own.

Just my two cents
