Thanks, LT. If you're familiar with that bay, then you'll likely remember that after a good kick from the highway, you'll run into some prominent, rather large red boulders lining the shore. I pitched tube jigs and other types of baits in against those rocks in hopes of hooking any type of fish.
As I said, this was my fourth venture in the tube. In order, I have fished Starvation, Jordanelle, Deer Creek, and now Strawberry from my new craft. On each of those trips--excluding Strawberry--I've managed to land at least one smallmouth.
I've heard about the elusive Strawberry smallmouth for years now, and those hefty red rocks looked like just the ticket to produce a smallie, but I'm sorry to say the structure produced a big goose egg.
