If it were only this way for the masses. really the only time it is like that is with very seasoned hunters that put the time in starting in early summer and start scouting where the areas they are going to hunt. I dare say with the majority of the folks out it is get the tag in June, look forward to it, Maybe break out the rifle a week or two before the hunt and try to get a shooting lane at Lee Kay to make sure they are still some what sighted in with the ammo they just purchased. So come opening morning every one is excited and running on pure adrenalin. If it moves it stands a good chance of being drawn on before it is even identified.
The reason I feel so strongly about younger kids not hunting until they are 15-16 is that gives them a few years on small game to actually get use to, and practice what they learned in hunters ed. I just think there are a lot of people out there that look at the youth tag as a way for them to harvest another animal, not necessarly teach or afford the youngster the pleaseure and responsability of the big game hunt.
I have been around kids that are far better with rifles than alot of gorwn adults and that is very
. In the end 14 is that youngest I would go and even than I am uneasy.
