Biggest Fish On A Fly Rod
#45
That's too bad about the Lower Owens being blown out on your trip, the wild trout section there has some great brown trout fishing when the Los Angleles DWP doesn't release soo much water. My older brother got a 28 1/2 inch brown last time we went together out of that section of the river. I think the Los Angleles DWP now posts their planned water releases. Not sure if it is reliable or not: http://wsoweb.ladwp.com/Aqueduct/realtime/norealtime.htm
There is also a fly shop in Bishop that seems to know what the flows are supposed to be for the upcoming week or two. http://www.brocksflyfish.com/fishreport.htm. I usually call them before heading up that way.

Never fished Weir pond but I've tried Intake II on Bishop Creek. It is ok on a week day for fly fishing but is way too busy with bait fisherman on the weekend. Was Weir pond busy?
