Sorry, I'm new to the web site and not sure how to post photos. Hope this works. I grew up catching small sunfish and bluegills on a flyrod and remember how well they fought for their size. This redear looked and fought like a football in the water, not much fight for it's size. Matt and Nick seemed to be getting much more fight out of the 2 lb class size they were catching on spinning rods with mini jigs and gold spinners. I'm still trying to teach them to flyfish and they were catching about 5 to one on the spinners versus what I could get to rise for a mini popper. The lake we were fishing on is Lake Sherwood but it doesn't have a web site or open public access. It is part of a large housing and golf course development. I'll try the CA fish and game idea, I know they have other public lakes that have a big redear fishery.
