I fish the pond behind my house as well. In my case, largemouth bass hang mostly near shore where they can grab frogs and insects that jump into the pond. Overhanging shrubs, grass, and cattails are great places to cast to. Try some Senko-style worms or a little topwater action. I've been slaughtering the largemouth in my pond with a Jackal Mikey Jr. which is a 5/8 oz jointed hard swimbait that runs very close to the surface.
In my case, I use worms (either weightless or shakey head), frog, or baitfish imitators as there are no crayfish in the pond.
