New! Daily So Cal Saltwater Roundup
#1

Hey there guys,

I'm going to try to report on what's generally happening in saltwater along the coast from Oxnard to San Diego on a daily basis for a one week stretch. I'll still be reporting on individual trips and welcome your info, especially such 'we went and did this' reports from all our visitor/members who would kindly contribute. I'll start a new main post every Monday up to and ending the next Sunday.

For Yesterday Late:
Times were pretty tough for all the sportboats yesterday as the wind got up and started blow. A couple of SD boats got out and notably the Chubasco II and Legend got some 'tails at the Coronados. Up here in LA, a lot of local boats simply didn't go out or fished in close or even the inner harbors. That's with the exception with a couple of hardy souls to Catalina who did pretty good on the Calicos. See the seperate report for my trip on the Victory.

For Today:
Most boats along the entire coast stayed home today with the wind howling and hopes of better weather tomorrow. The exceptions are those fishing for halibut inside the more sheltered breakwaters. With the yellowtail and barracuda fishing pretty hot at the Coronados, (when they can get out) and everyone hoping to get in on a new surge in WSB and or yellowtail fishing at Clemente, Catalina, and the Santa Cruz islands, lots of anglers are pinning their hopes on the weekend and the winds dying down. Let's keep our fingers crossed. After all, squid is avaliable NOW!
