I think the reason more people have not tied this particular fly is the cost of JUNGLE COCK. There is an imitation available, but not a feather, rather a sticker of sorts.
It does say it is optional and in that case I have tied them and they work killer. I use the Mallard down the side, but I dresst the hook with synthetic flash first and a couple of Peacock strips across the back. Added stick on eyes, It works great, but not a strong fly. It will get mangled fairly quickly.
