Hi and welcome to BigFishTackle.
I do fish Castaic quite often. Almost every day while I'm in town.
In the lower lake or the Lagoon as we call it, there are Large Mouth Bass, Blue Gills, Red Breated Sunfish, Carp and Catfish. Trout are present during the cooler months.
The upper lake has LargeMouth Bass, Striped Bass, Blue Gill, Sunfish, Carp, Catfish and Trout are present most of the year.
It is not uncommon to run into an occasional Red Ear Slider Turtle in both lakes.[cool]
