I've read the middle is high too. I went to the lower on Tuesday night. Didn't have much success, but that's not the river's fault, it's because I'm a novice. The water was high there too, but definitely fishable. Plenty of people there. I read that sow bugs and hare's ears work well right now. My only taker was on a bead head hare's ear. If you go and wade, be very careful. Other guys there were using spinning gear and claimed limited success.
