[font "Garamond"][#008000][size 4][cool]If you have never loaded a fly reel before the easiest way to make sure that it is loaded properly is to reel on the fly line first and then the backing until you have about a ΒΌ" distance between the line and the edge of the reel. Do not knot the fly line to the reel. All you want to do at this point is to determine how much backing you will need. Then reverse the procedure. Fasten the backing with an arbor knot to the spool. Once the backing has been reeled on then attach the backing to the fly line with a nail knot. BTW backing is usually a bright color. Yellow is good. But then again a reliable fly show will usually do all this free of charge as they would like your repeat business. Good luck.[/size][/#008000][/font]
