Hello! I'm pretty new to fishing thanks to my girlfriend, and I had a couple simple questions that I couldn't get some clear answers on.
First - How do I pick out a rod and real for myself? We do a lot of Walleye and Pike fishing in the UP of Michigan. Sometimes on a boat and sometimes off-shore. Does selecting the length of the rod have to do with my height? Also, for my first rod, would it be best to get some kind of a cheap combo rod/reel from like Cabela's(Saw a fairly cheap combo Whuppin' Stick in their catalog) or Bass Pro Shop?
First.5 - What is the difference between rods that have the trigger and the 'spinning' rods?
Second - What are some good 'newbie' reels? I really have no idea about any of this.
