A lot of people (myself included) troll crawler harnesses a foot or two off the bottom. I've found that the yellows and red and white seem to work best in my areas.

Another good way of catching them is to drift fish and bounce a jig just up off the bottom tipped with a minnow or crawler.

When are you going on your trip? Be sure to let us know how it went. If your interested I could send you out a couple crawler harnesses if you want to give it a try.
GOOD LUCK,
Mike
