When a trout can be out done by the Utah chub and golden shiners than I'd say trout in general are weak non agressive fish eaters. I've seen way to many lakes killed of simply because the trash fish over run those lakes and reservoirs. Consider how many of our lakes right now have slot limits to help control chubs and shiners from bucked biologist and what migrates into a lakes. Trout can't compete like predator fish but they can and do eat fish once they reach a mature size. Most of the trout I've seen with chubs or minnow in them are around the 20 " mark.
