I agree on the high harvest issue Tightline. I heard Charlie Thompson (the old Central Region Manager) state that by his creel estimate, every single rainbow he stocked in Jordanellle was caught the weekend they opened it. And by my chub post, you probably think I'm a dyed in the wool trout boy. Actually my #1 is largemouth followed closely by smallies, then walleye, then gills then trout. I still know that chubs are bad for trout waters. I volunteered for the treatment at Strawberry, and there were not many trout left at all. If it was simply harvest, they would not have boomed post treatment, because harvest was through the roof. Trout just don't compete well with anything. The Boulder brookies grow huge with no fish forage at all. Trout will eat some fish, but it is not the primary component of their diet. My bass can survive on crayfish, so the rest is just debate. I hope you don't think I was insulting you, merely stating my opinion. May the fish gods be with you my friend.
