Poncho is right. There are Walleye, Smallmouth, and Browns. Don't forget the chubs, lots and lots of chubs.
One of the viewer pictures on Doug Miller a couple of years ago was a kid holding a Pike he claimed to have caught in Starvation. I never could get verification that the Pike was actually caught in the lake. There are Pike in the river (Duchesne) below the lake, and I think that this is where it came from. I know I have never caught one in the lake, and with the way I fish, and where I fish, I should have if they were there.
Shore fishing can be done, but it is a little difficult. Knight Hollow, the bridge, Juniper Point, Indian bay, and Rabbit gultch can all be accessed on foot, but you have to know where the roads are to get in. The bridge is the easiest access, just pull across and off the road on the Salt Lake side of the bridge on Highway 40. You can walk down to the lake over a ladder built into the fence. If you want some of hte other directions, let me know and I'll try to give directions that aren't too confusing.
