I would have to say, until Cabelas arrived Sportsmans had the market and was way out of whack. Since the arrival of Cabelas, it has created some much needed competition and the playing field is level. I Purchased my FishFinder at Cabelas and it was $60 cheaper than Sportsmans. I recently purchased quite the assortment of crankbaits from Cabelas and paid no more than $3 for any one, most under $2 on sale- very happy about that. During the winter I purchased a new shanty and powered auger at Sportsmans and both were by far cheaper than the Cabelas comparable.
I have lost one to many fish to malfunctioning Wal-Mart terminal tackle, so I don't play that game any more. On some items Wal-Mart has great deals.
