I will admit, I have my doubts about some things that some people report sometimes, but I have no problem believing Cliff with this one because I catch many big trout too. I've caught numerous 10+lb trout while bass fishing (occasionally in the same day) and I have never taken a picture of even one of them. You need to understand that to the hardened bass fisherman a big trout is seriously just like catching a big carp. haha. I'm not joking either! The biggest rainbow I've caught was 14lbs while flipping a jig-n-pig in the reeds at a lake in CA. Caught and released...no pics...and yes, I had the camera with me, I just didn't care. I also have caught quite a few of those giant browns while bassin' up at Jordanelle...no pics of any of them. Sorry man, we just don't care about them...
I think bass fisherman probably catch more "trophy" sized trout than most actual trout fishermen in the state do. The only reason for that is because in general we use much bigger lures/baits for what we are targeting and those big bruiser sized trout I'm sure would rather eat a big bass bait than a little Mepps spinner or fly...
