now that's a great post ! my hat is off to you !
we are from diferent states , and they are run diferently . i've seen our public land closed off and then because of lack of use , and then sold off to real estate companys . i've seen public acess sites to lakes sold over to lake associations for members only . i've seen our woodlands sold off for for $50.00 an acre to clearcutting lumbermills who pay a small fine for not replanting the areas when done .i,ve seen handicaped sites repaired after complaints and then closed off .
in our state we suffer from to many chiefs and not enough indians . the department comes first , nature comes second .
in our state a few thousand gallons of oil can be dumped into our waterways costing millions to clean up . the dumper surprisingly is never reported found . it isn't that hard to follow the scumline of an oil slick in an industrial area . someones sewer line holds the key .
our d.n.r. here has gone from being stuards of our resourses to a corparation mentality . closed door meetings on public policys , red tape , and transfering responsibility from one department to another .
progress ? i think i like the way your state is doing things .
thanks , lonehunter .
