This just might work..
#3
Let me tell you why this won't work. I work for an oil company and I'm familiar with how things work. The refiners sell gasoline to many different retailers. If you stop buying gas from Exxon and start buying gas from Chevron it's not going to hurt Exxon. The refining capacity in the U.S. is at near maximum. Chevron can't produce enough gasoline to supply all of the new buyers that moved over from Exxon. What do they do? Chevron buys gas from Exxon to meet their demands. It happens every day. Go park near one of the refinery loading racks and watch all the different names on the trucks. One other point about prices. We were paying around $2 a gallon when crude was $45. Now crude is $110. Does it make sense that gas would also double?
