We should. Every single one of us. As humans', isn't it our responsibility to do what we can to prevent the extinction of any animal threatened, no matter what it's perceived importance? Where would you draw the line on an animal's importance? How do you distinguish which animals are worth protection and which aren't?
I've never seen (in real life) a humpback chub, a razorback sucker, a bonytail chub, or a colorado pikeminnow. I probably never will. But I'd sure be upset if my children's chance to ever have the opportunity to see one is ruined because of ignorant attitudes towards threatened and endangered species.
I'm not a fan of the current T&E program. I'd like it to change. But it still has its place and it still serves an important purpose.
Tubedude -- I agree with you. Let's let this thread die. It's quite disturbing to see the number of uneducated and uninformed posts concerning its topic. It's unfortunate how many people participate on this site with the intentions of wanting to learn something -- but a complete unwillingness to change opinions based upon incorrect information. Not caring about the potential loss of a species from our planet is just one example.
