I'm new to Lee's Ferry but have a few questions maybe some here can help with. First weren't the hey days of 5- 10 lb fish at Lee's Ferry long gone before this experiment took place for the first time 12 years ago? Is this really such a scouring to begin with? 42000 cfs is only about 3 times the daily peak and is lasting only 60 hours at that level. Most of our free flowing rivers get a runoff that increases much more than that and last much longer. Even some tailwaters have a bigger % increase flows than that at times. There certainly is no shortage of fish there. The problem is there is no really big fish there. Did the other increased water flows actually reduce the population of fish? If so was it enough to result in less competition and some bigger fish? You'd think that would happen within a year if it was going to happen at all. I'm skeptical enough that it isn't going to significantly reduce the number of fish that I'm planning to fish it in 2 weeks. If I get skunked [unsure]at least I'll have an excuse anyway[cool].
