Catch & Release may not be Harmless?

I know its nuts. I felt bad as I don't want to make it suffer. I want to put it out of its misery asap. No sense making the fish suffer a slow death. Catfish just are that tough though. we filleted one my gf caught on the 4th of July and it flopped after we took the fillets off! I ripped the organs out as I wanted to kill it really quickly. May have been nerves but still I was shocked.
