Hey windriver, I've tried to figure out the right way of freezing minnows for use later. There are times when trapping minnows is difficult, so having some way to store them would be good. The problem I've had is they go very mushy after they thaw. Do you get the same result?
I had a guy tell me once that he put them in salt to dessicate them somewhat before freezing. He explained that removing some internal moisture from them makes them more likely to hold up during freezing then thawing. Although this sounds plausible, I haven't tried it yet so I don't know. I guess I'm always looking for a better way.
