No fishing for me. I'm out in North Dakota for the weekend where the temps have been in the single digits all week. I just checked the temp and it's 19. Wooo Hooooooo.. HEAT WAVE [cool] !!!
So no fishing report but here is my Midwest traveling report.
The other day I actualy saw a tumble weed. It crossed the road right in front of me. I was like [shocked] holy crap!! they actualy do exsit. I thought those things were just something you saw in the movies. If I see another one I might just stop and see if I can grab it for the kid to take to show n tell at school.
The other night while traveling down a 2 lane road, I had what looked like an entire heard of mule deer cross the road in front of me. They were more like a grey brownish color and had large dark ears. Didn't see any horns but there were some BIG ones mixed in there. Must have been around 25 animals. They wern't afraid of me at all. Took their time crossing the road at a slow walk about 25 yards in front of me. Only a couple of them looked towards the headlights as if to say "hey turn that crap off". I would have took some pictures but read on...
I was at Mount Rushmore on Wednesday where I completely screwed my digital camera. It was a big 2 degrees (without windchill) when I was there and when I took the camera outside the lense instantly frosted over on me. Then when I went back inside it fogged up and it's been that way ever since.[unsure] So no pictures.
Traveling out here hasn't been to bad. Have only had a couple days where the snow made a good mess and slowed things down. The wind on the other hand has been insane!!! Nothing but flat rolling open fields out here with nothing to stop it. If your not paying attention it will push you right into the other lane or off the road. I must have seen at least a hundred cars, truck, and semi's stuck in the median and along side the road.
It's been a good trip with some new sights and adventures but I'll be glad to get back to MI in a few more days. Be sure you have all that white crap gone before I get there. Break out the portable heaters and grab your wifie's hair dryer and get to work !!!
ps.. I havn't seen this much barbed-wire since I went to visit my brother in law (from the ex-wife) out in Jackson prison. There must be about a million miles of that stuff out here.
