I liked fishing up a creek with those boys.
We'd come to a fallen log and have to cross it. The boys would all go out on the log and begin fishing. Leaving me to get the boat across the log by myself.
You just havent lived till you've confined to a small aluminum prison with Five boys casting hooked lines all around your head.
Those kids intinctly know if you catch one right near 'that' log, there's a hundred more right there.
They'd all converge on the same spot. Soon, sure enough we'd have six or seven crappie. When the bite slowed, they were ominously restless again and I learned to get the boat going quick to keep one of them from snagging part of me in their quest for fish in that other place.
I should warn you though. Wait till your a grandfather to do things like that. By then you've learned to duck better and may even have developed eyes in the back of your fishing hat.
